We all love them - Painted Ponies - and we are pleased to bring The Trail of Painted Ponies to you on our site. Painted Ponies started as a "public art for charity" project in New Mexico. Using full-size polyurethane horses (from an original
form sculpted by world-renowned bronze artist Star Liana York), each of
the 118 artists transformed their horse "canvas" into unique works of art
limited only by their imaginations.

Today, artwork is still submitted for
consideration. Once
a work of art is accepted as new horse figurine for The Trail of Painted Ponies, it is miniaturized and crafted with exquisite detail into resin or
ceramic figurines based on the original artwork.
The
Trail of Painted Ponies explores the inspirational power of the horse as a
medium for creative expression. It is easy to understand why Painted
Ponies have become one of the most beloved collectibles in America, Canada,
Australia and all of Europe.
So, celebrate The Trail of Painted Ponies with us. If you would like to learn more about the Ponies, view the documentary below. It is narrated by Ali
MacGraw, who participated in the project as one of the artists. You'll see some of the 120 original works of art, and hear interviews of world-famous Native American, Hispanic and Anglo
artists and get a close-up look at their artistic horse creations.
