Gicleé (pronounced zee-clay) Prints are created very differently from lithograph prints. Instead of the mechanical process of printing with 4 color plates, digital technology is used to first mix the inks and then apply them in a single step application directly onto the paper. Because the ink is applied in one layer, Ms Richards is able to print Gicleé Prints on watercolor paper. The quality of this printing technique is considered the finest available, bested only by an original watercolor painting. All of Ms Richards' Gicleé Prints are limited editions; therefore, each Giclee is both signed and numbered; some are also embellished with 23K gold leaf.
